@andrewb4099 Im not sure. I mean I would think that it would be strong enough as long as you feel comfortable with it holding the weigh. My 40 gallon probably weighs around 100-150 pounds with water. So that is about the weight of a person so if you can stand in you room and it doesnt feel shaky then it should be fine.

Well i wont to get a 40gal… like your tank for my 3 turtles , atmo i got a 20gal and this might sound stupid but will a 40 gal be too heavy for the ceiling under my bedroom to hold? Thanks!

@BitterBeauty19 Buy a large fluval or marineland canister there allot better the submersible filters cause they can hold allot more media and clean allot better. Also gives the turtle more room to swim.
@YwOwUwTwUwBwE Depends on how much you feed, what you feed, and how messy your turtles are. I clean mine once a month so that would be 12 times a year but I do spot cleanings every other week as well.
hey i’m planning to buy a similar tank to yours and buy a strong filter for it, how many times do you have to clean it in a year?
I don’t recommend submersible filters for turtles. They’re good temporary or back up filters but they won’t get the job done. Instead you should get a Rena XP3 canister filter. That thing does wonders.

OKay, ik this is weird and youll prolly think im some kind of freaky stalker guy, but i have that same bowl, i also keep my Turltes in that when i clean their tanks! WEIRD! Lol.
@stingray614 Turtles are pretty nasty lol The more filter power you have the better. I like the take the gallons and times it by two. Like if you have a 20 gallon tank you need atleast a filter for a 40 gallon tank etc.

You should Add some big corys the turtles should not touch them and the corys should help keep the gravil clean.

Just get a basking dock for her to use it is much easier than trying to section off land plus there is more swimming space.
so she can have a dry spot when basking and have a wet,by the way she is about 4and and a half inches length in shell size so need a lot of room for this animal!
Why would you put a divider if she is in a 40 gallon tank by herself?
i have 1 adult female,in a 40 g tank the same breed as the turtle that jumped off the dock in the vid,not sure the name,and then i have 1 baby red ear slider in a 15g tank,in the 40 i have it split 1 dry dirt peat moss area and i wet area with a small cat box,but the filter is way to big,considering how big she is,in such a small encloser,im thinking of putting a plexi glass devider in today,do you have any suggestions ?
Well I can never fully get them off, but I use a really scratchy sponge thing and that does alright. I heard razor blades work well too.
What do you use for hard water stains? I find it easiest to just scrape it off with a algae scraper.
I have to clean a 55 gallon with one turtle in it. Top it off with removing hard water stains and boy does it get interesting! Nice video. (:
